MY HUNT AT BUFFALO MOUNTAIN RANCH, WAS OUTSTANDING.  EVEN THOUGH I DIDN’T GET MY BIG BUCK, I HAD MY CHANCE, DARN STICK!  BUT, YOUR ADVICE ON HOW TO CALL A FOX IN STILL AMAZES ME AND THAT IS A MEMORY I WILL NEVER FORGET AND I OWE THAT TO YOU, MISS TAMMY – THANK YOU.   WE PLAN ON COMING BACK WITHOUT A DOUBT, SO SAVE “SHIELDS” FOR ME.  HE WON THE FIRST ROUND AND MAYBE I WILL WIN THE SECOND ROUND.  YOU AND RICK ARE GREAT HOSTS, AGAIN – THANK YOU.

Larry Yerger found a young 6 point freshly killed and covered in leaves and debris on Jan. 9, 2010 in pasture 5. We checked the sight and thought we may have a cougar kill, judging by the size of the claw marks scraping up dirt and leaves to cover the body.
Rick set a game camera on the location and we soon discovered it was bobcats, big ones. The camera took over 600 photos of these cats as they came and went, spending several hours each time at the site. Over the next several days these two cats devoured the deer. They moved it 4 times and recovered it. You can see an old position in the back ground.
Only after the body was almost completely consumed did any scavengers come near. Raccoons came to scavenge but were chased off by the bobcats. No coyotes or foxes dared to get close. The natural wild, caught in the act.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to go hog hunting at Buffalo Mountain Ranch. I absolutely had a blast and I can’t wait to go back. I saw deer at every stand that I went to so I am pumped up for white tail season. The hospitality was great, and Mrs. Worley makes the best desserts. Look forward to seeing you in whitetail season.

This was the first hunt my wife, Kim, and I have been on together in 5 years. The pigs came in around 8:07 am.  There were three black pigs to choose from, so I decided to shoot the biggest one. I made a good shot so the tracking was easy.   Kim now understands my passion for hunting and wants to be a part of it even more now.  Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share this awesome time with my wife.  See you soon.
